A Dream House in Virginia
All mantels were built on site, as well as all the recessed panel walls and wainscoting. The staircase is walnut, and is an over-the-post system.
This was a 4,500 square foot addition on an 1820 plantation home.
This was a dream job. It was true carpentry. A person, nowadays doesn't get the opportunity to do work like this very often. I am very proud of this.

Restoring a porch to its original Victorian charm
This is a porch in Historic Jonesborough, Tennessee, that I restored to the way it looked in about 1910.
In the 1950s, the decorative trim had been torn out and iron posts installed. The owner showed me a photo of how it looked originally and asked if I would put it back. I had the photo enlarged to see the details and proportion. I then could make patterns and cut out all the pieces and parts.
The photo below left shows how it looked before work began.
The new trim was painted to match the color of the house.

Details make the home more beautiful
Crown molding, Victorian-style door frames and other touches can add a special touch to the home. The details in this custom carpentry will provide an elegant richness to the rooms.
