Scott Liseno, Owner, Omnia Custom Homes and Renovations
Toby performed the finish carpentry work on a large renovation and addition project we built in Virginia. In my homebuilding career I have never met another contractor like Toby Wilkins. He approaches jobs in a way that instills confidence in his clients and, in my case, in the general contractor. The required trim work for this particular job was one of the largest, most complex, and most critical parts of the entire job, and it was particularly important to the owners. I knew after my first phone conversation with Toby that he was THE man for this job. We had several on-site meetings to discuss the scope, magnitude and time requirements for the work prior to coming to terms, and each time I was more impressed with him.
Toby knew what it would take to get this job done and he knew how to do it right. Never was there a question of quality or commitment- his work was first class from beginning to end. Planning and communication are critical for a large construction job to run efficiently and smoothly, and Toby was a leader in making sure we had everything in place to make that happen. The results speak for themselves. I would hire Toby again without a second thought and would highly recommend him for any finish carpentry work where the desired result is top notch work.

Pat Arnow & Steve Giles
When we moved from a house in the South to one-bedroom apartment in New York City, our friend Toby helped us make the most of the space. He built a wall shelf unit with file drawers and a computer cubby with a shelf and lighting above. Over our elderly metal radiators, he made graceful cabinets. All of this was done in a lovely, light-colored maple.
The designs came from my rough sketches. He worked out how things could be done, suggested economies, and let me know, in the most diplomatic way, when something was outside the scope of a piece of wood.
He’s a careful craftsman with a real depth of knowledge. One reason we can lure him to New York to work in our small space, is that he likes to look at architecture and design, and there’s plenty of that here.
